The Quilt Index: a Tremendous Resource for Quilt Scholars
The Quilt Index features the records of thousands of quilts, articles about quilting and other quilt ephemera. I donated my copy of the 19th century Cunnings catalog that features thousands of designs that could be ordered at the time for stitching Outline Stitched embroidery designs (Redwork, Bluework, Greenwork, etc.). Since then, I have sent photos of some of quilts which I have documented following their 8 page documentation form that is quite detailed. I have also shared articles that were previously written for The Quilter magazine. I feel this is an important way to continue to share my research and my quilts for reference now and in the future.
The link to the Quilt Index is https://quiltindex.org/
Some browsers will not process this link. The site is also currently experiencing a problem with bots attacking it but computer personnel are working hard to find ways to counter the attacks.
I am listed on the Artists Page and everything that I have sent to be posted is available via links at the bottom of that page for Patricia L. Cummings.
I feel very happy that Michigan State University has undertaken such an important program! One could get lost for a very long time perusing all that is offered there!
Sometime in the future, I plan to post quilt and embroidery projects I made by enlarging tiny catalog offerings from the Cunnings catalog. Here is one design I embroidered: Clematis.
